This year the JOTW survey has seven contributors; results will provide PR and comms benchmarks; plus there’s a chance to win gift cards
We know a lot has changed over the last year, but what specifically has changed and how much?
That’s one of the objectives of this strategic communications survey, and I’m asking you, dear reader, to consider taking it: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V6VSW9G
So far, survey takers have spent an average of 6:33 on this survey, so it shouldn’t take you long.
Background on the JOTW survey
For the last several years, Ned Lundquist, who publishes Ned’s Job-of-the-Week (JOTW) email newsletter and I have teamed up to field a study. This will be our fourth year fielding this survey and will be the 4th Annual JOTW Strategic Communications Survey for 2021.
You can read about prior year JOTW survey results here, or here are links to the survey reports for 2020, 2019 and 2018.
The survey gets better every year
This year promises to be especially magnificent because, well, an impressive and diverse roster of seven big thinkers in our industry have helped shape the questions – and promised to help analyze the results. These are all names you might recognize – in alphabetical order:
3 reasons you should take the survey
Why should you take the survey? Let me offer three reasons:
1. Benchmarks PR and comms
The results are shared freely and the benchmarks it produces will tell you how well you, your team and your efforts compare against peers. It’s a way to prompt process improvement, and also glean ideas for taking things to the next level.
2. Drive industry conversation
The last 12 months or so have been rough. We’ve shaken up the questions significantly this year and ask hard and direct questions. The answers will be invaluable.
3. You really can win a prize
We offer a random drawing as a token of appreciation in exchange for your time. In years past, when I’ve reached out to notify winners, I usually get responses like this:
“Awesome! I never win anything!”
There are three prizes that you can spend anywhere on Amazon.com you’d like <deadpans>).
Those prizes are as follows:
- One $100 gift card;
- One $50 gift card; and
- One $25 gift card.
The chances of winning depend on how many complete the survey (see T&Cs – link in the survey). For illustration, the chances last year were 3 in 300, which is pretty good odds.
Some of the winners in year’s past have told me they donated their gift card to charity.
